FAQ's

What is Edin and What does it do?

Edin Life is a home grown label that brings to you Hand-made, Small batch products using the age-old authentic recipes from the Telugu Household.

Our Pickles and Karam Podi’s are made with 100% cold pressed oils using the ingredients sourced from small farmers in and around Telangana.

We are sustainable, a 100% Preservative free, All Natural, free of artificial colors,
Preservatives and additives.

 Why Pickles and Karam Podis?

The tradition of pickling was developed before the green revolution and modern day appliances and techniques as a solution to the problems of food scarcity and seasonality of produce and they carry a host of health benefits
and were invented to both save the vegetables and to extract the most nutrition
we can out of each bite. And the irony of Modern day is that we are adding preservatives to the pickles there by compromising the authenticity.

We want to un-pickle the pickle we’re in and re-introduce the nostalgia
to the ones who have forgotten and introduce nostalgia to the ones who never knew and preserve out culinary heritage.

 Are pickles good for you?

There are quite a few myths around pickles. Especially that they aren’t good for you however the process of pickles was not only invented to address the food scarcity but also because it is a process that lets you extract the
maximum nutrition we can out of each bite.

Pickles are natural pro-biotic, Good for Gut, Immunity Booster, Rich source of Anti-Oxidants and various vitamins like Vit C, Vit A, Vit K etc.

Do consider your existing health conditions. We say so because of the fact that often our health conditions make us avoid foods which are otherwise good and sometimes it’s specific ingredients.

Our present health conditions are a result of what we have been eating and also what we are born with. So, please keep the existing health conditions in mind.

What are the benefits of Karam Podis?

Karam Podi’s are unconscious nutrition. It’s a mix of ingredients which you’d otherwise not consume regularly.

For ex. A curry leaf, most of us push it to the corner of the plate and not eat it. However in a Podi form you cannot do
that.

You can mix a spoon of it into your curry’s, won’t make a lot of difference to the taste but like we said It’s unconscious nutrition. They go well with all break fasts and act as a spice mix for Try with Dosas, Idly, Upma or mix with hot rice and ghee, sprinkle on dips and salads for that extra zing.

Are your pickles Acid Reflux free?

Our pickles do not trigger your acid reflux / GERD - This has been a constant feedback from our repeat customers.
